Good and evil people throughout history.

Good

Jesus

Jesus was born in the year 6 BCE. He is the son of God. Jesus helped people all throughout his life and was always did the right thing. He preached the word of God. He became very well known however he was arrested and crucified after confronting moneychangers in a temple.

Jesus was good because he always tried to do the right thing. He never gave in to temptation.

Dalia Lama

The Dalia Lama was born on the 16th of July 1935. He is the spiritual leader of Tibet. The Dalia Lama has and still is coming up with non violent ways of bringing peace to Tibet. He has received a Nobel Peace Award for his efforts. The Dalia Lama is also always trying to promote compassion, happiness and forgiveness.

Mary Mackillop

Mary Mackillop was born on the 15th of January 1842. She was the first Australian saint. She went into poverty so that she could educate poor children. She also got many people to help her do this.

This is good as she sacrificed her wealth to assist people in need.

William Wilberforce

William was Born on the 24th of August 1759. He is known for abolishing slavery. He tried for years and even though to start off almost everyone was against him he tried his hardest. In the end he managed to trick people into reducing slavery then finally got the slave trade abolished.

This is a good thing as slavery affected many lives and slave ships had very bad conditions for slaves.

Mahatma Gandhi

Mahatma was born on the 2nd of October 1869. He was the Spiritual and Political leader of India. His goal was to help poor farmers and put a stop to discrimination. He believed in living a simple life and made his own clothes and mostly ate the vegetables he grew.

Mahatma Gandhi is good because he came up with many quotes that help people make the right choice. He also tried his hardest to get rid of two things that make life hard for some people, discrimination and poverty.

 Evil

Adolf Hitler

Adolf Hitler wanted to become an artist but was rejected by the academy of fine arts twice and soon became homeless. When world War 1 started Adolf Hitler was accepted into the army. Hitler was surprized when the Germans surrendered and worked as an intelligence officer. He joined a workers party which was called DAP. DAP then became NSDAP. In 1923 Hitler became the chairman of NSDAP. Hitler stormed a public meeting and was arrested for high treason and put in jail. He wrote a book on how he wanted to turn the German society into one based on race. Hitler became the leader of the Nazi’s in 1932.

Hitler was responsible for the death of two thirds of population of Jews in Europe and also started world war two. Both of these things are extremely evil.

Osama bin laden

Osama bin Laden is on of the most well known terrorists ever. His first offence was when he blew up a car. Eventually he moved on to the worst act of terrorism to this date, the bombings of 9 11.

This is the most evil terrorist attack ever made and could have been even worse if the attacks on the pentagon and white house were as successful as Osama had hoped.

Pol Pot

Pol pot was born in 1925. He was responsible for killing 25% of his countries population. This was through overworking, starvation and executions. He evacuated peasants from towns within Cambodia to save them from bombings yet they ended up working in a farm from 4am to 10pm. They only got 180 grams of rice every 2 days.

This is genocide which is an extremely evil crime to commit. Pol pot killed hundreds of thousands of people.

 Idi Amin

Idi Amin was born in 1925 and was the leader of Uganda. 300,000 people were killed during his reign. He sent armies to capture countries and expelled all the Asian people from his country.

Mao Zedong

Mao Zedong was born on December the 26th 1893. He was responsible for the greatest man-made famine ever killing 40 million people through starvation. He also hid this from his nation and the rest of the world. He was regarded as an extremely good leader however that changed when word went around about the famine he caused.
